The purpose
of a psycho-educational evaluation is to
determine if there are any difficulties with
your child's school/academic skills. A
psycho-educational evaluation also will provide
information regarding your child's strengths and
weaknesses.
The psycho-educational evaluation includes the
following:
1. Initial Intake session to gain a better
understanding of the current concerns, the
child's history, the family, and complete
necessary paperwork to begin the evaluative
process.
2. Intelligence Testing (IQ).
3. Academic Achievement Testing.
4. Academic Fluency and Speed Testing.
5. Verbal feedback of the results will take
place within 24 hours of testing.
6. A written report is provided within two weeks
at the parent feedback session.
When coming for a psycho-educational evaluation,
approximately 2-2 hour appointments should be
allotted. While all of the time may not be
needed, Dr. Schneider will make sure your child
has an opportunity to use the rest room or take
a break if needed. For best performance your
child should be well-rested and has had
breakfast or a snack.
